Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the Cool Cart iPhone app ("the app") and this website. Cool Cart is made and operated by Gilad Hoze, an individual developer based in Israel ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Apple's standard license

The app is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These Terms add to the Standard EULA. If the two conflict, the Standard EULA controls to the extent of the conflict. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and Apple has no obligation to provide support for it.

2. What Cool Cart does

Cool Cart helps you cut back on impulse shopping. It lets you block shopping apps and websites using Apple's Screen Time, offers a short check-in when you have an urge to buy, lets you put items in a Freezer to cool off, and tracks a no-buy streak and your money not spent. You need an iPhone with iOS 16 or later. No account is needed.

3. Free features and Cool Cart Pro

Blocking, the block screen, the urge check-in and your streak are free. Cool Cart Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that adds extra features, such as an unlimited Freezer, a monthly streak freeze, all igloo looks, full insights history, all share card designs and custom unlock rules. The features included in Pro may change over time. Not having Pro never locks you out of the free features.

Prices

Prices are in US dollars. The App Store shows the price in your local currency, including any applicable taxes, before you confirm. Pro is not available through Family Sharing.

Free trial

Both plans include a 7-day free trial for eligible users. Apple decides trial eligibility. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your paid subscription starts automatically. For example, on the yearly plan:

Free for 7 days, then $39.99 per year. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when the trial ends. Your subscription renews automatically at $39.99 per year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.

The monthly plan works the same way at $7.99 per month.

Automatic renewal

Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Cancelling

You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store account settings (on iPhone: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. If you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. When Pro ends, you go back to the free plan and nothing you created is deleted; only adding beyond the free limits stops.

Refunds

All payments are processed by Apple, and we cannot issue refunds directly. You can ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple's decisions on refunds follow Apple's own policies.

Restoring purchases

If you reinstall the app or move to a new iPhone, use Restore in the app's Pro screen to restore an active subscription linked to your Apple ID.

4. Blocking relies on Apple Screen Time

Blocking uses Apple's Screen Time features, which Apple controls. Blocking can be turned off by you at any time, may be bypassed (for example by using another device, another browser, changing Screen Time settings or deleting the app), and may stop working or behave differently because of iOS updates, device settings, Focus modes or system errors. Notifications may be delayed or held by iOS. We do not promise that any app or website will always be blocked, or that the app will be available or error free at all times.

5. Not financial advice, no guaranteed results

Cool Cart is a self-help tool. It does not provide financial, legal, medical or psychological advice. Amounts shown as "money not spent" are estimates based on numbers you enter, such as your typical buy, and are not a statement of actual money in any account. We do not guarantee any result, including that you will spend less. If shopping is causing you serious harm or distress, please consider talking to a qualified professional.

6. Acceptable use

Use the app only for lawful, personal purposes. Do not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app except as allowed by the Standard EULA or by law, and do not interfere with its normal operation.

7. Your content and privacy

Things you add to the app, such as Freezer items and check-in notes, are stored on your iPhone and stay yours. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled.

8. Intellectual property

Cool Cart, Cubby and the app's design, artwork and text belong to us. Store and brand names you may see in the app or on this site belong to their owners, and Cool Cart is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

9. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some places do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of this section may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, purchases made or not made, data or opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for Cool Cart Pro in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50 if that is more. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.

11. Ending use

You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it (and cancelling any subscription in your App Store settings). We may stop offering the app or some of its features.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date, and for significant changes we will also let you know in the app. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict of law rules. The competent courts in Tel Aviv, Israel will have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the consumer laws of the country where you live give you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
